Cruz leads off TV ads for 2016

Ted Cruz campaign ads will air this weekend on local TV stations in Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina, and on Fox News.

The TV buy – estimated at $33,000 – is the first TV buy of the 2016 Presidential campaign, according to a Washington Post report and confirmed by his campaign.

Targeting conservative Christian voters, the ads will run once locally in NBC’s A.D.: The Bible Continues airing Easter Sunday and over the weekend on Fox News channel during Killing Jesus, based on Bill O’Reilly’s book of the same name.

While digital gets all the political ad buzz, TV and cable ads will still get a healthy majority of the dollars in 2016—about 63 percent, according to estimates from Borrell Associates.
