Update: Patent reform bills won’t move until after Memorial Day

At the end of last week it looked like Wednesday would be the day that House Judiciary would be marking up chairman Bob Goodlatte’s (R-Va) Innovation Act (H.R. 9), a bill to combat abusive patent troll practices.  But on Monday, a House aide indicated that formal work on the bill won’t start until after the Memorial Day recess.

And although the Senate judiciary put the PATENT Act on the agenda for a Thursday May 21 business meeting, the odds are that it too, will be held over until the next executive business meeting after Memorial Day.
