Cablevision has until Friday to pull ads that accuse Verizon of lying about having the fastest wireless network.
Judge Gary Brown issued the injunction against Cablevision days after he ruled against Cablevision’s lawsuit accusing Verizon of lying in its ad campaign claiming it had the fastest WiFi, according to a Reuters report.
Cablevision originally filed a lawsuit against Verizon in January in the U.S. district court, eastern district of New York. Soon after Cablevision launched an advertising campaign that depicted Verizon as Pinochio or showed Verizon sales reps with their pants on fire.
In his opinion, Brown found the Cablevision ads “literally untrue and implicitly false.”
Cablevision intends to appeal the ruling, a spokesperson told Reuters.
